A relentless competition and respected leader, Bob wore the Blue and White with pride and left a lasting mark on the franchise. Only ten players in Maple Leafs history scored more goals than Bob, and his impact extended far beyond the scoresheet. Renowned for his intelligence, tenacity and forechecking, Bob played a vital role in Stanley Cup championships in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967 - including the Game Three double-overtime game-winner in the 1967 Final.
One of the more interesting stories to come out of the world of professional sports this week was Philip Rivers coming out of retirement to sign as a quarterback on the practice squad of the Indianapolis Colts. Rivers retired from the NFL after the 2020 season. He's 44 years old. He is literally a grandfather. Yet he just signed a professional football contract.
"No, not at all," Bergeron said in reply. "I feel like it's almost like I don't consider myself a part of that group. I think it's hard for me to believe that," he said of his own candidacy. "But also at the same time, I'm obviously here to support [Zdeno], but also [Duncan Keith] and [Joe] for their amazing careers. I'm just happy to be a part of this night."

Giacomin played 14 seasons in the NHL and spent 10-plus with the Rangers, winning 267 of his 290 games in New York and the 1971 Vezina Trophy awarded annually to the league's top goaltender alongside teammate Gilles Villemure. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1987 and had his No. 1 retired by the Rangers two years later on March 15, 1989.
