A 64-year-old woman named Carol Allen has been arrested for her involvement in a fatal crash that resulted in the death of pedestrian Maurette Lafleur in East Flatbush. The incident happened on May 14 when Lafleur was crossing Rutland Road at the intersection with East 95th Street and was struck by Allen's vehicle, a 2025 Mercedes Benz GLC 300. Allen remained at the scene after the collision, and emergency responders later transported Lafleur to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad conducted the investigation that led to the arrest and subsequent charges against Allen.
