"Stewart was left crumpled and covered in blood at the bottom of an escalator on the platform of the Long Island Rail Road between tracks 18 and 19 at around 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 24 after authorities say he tried to rob two off-duty cops. The robbery attempt happened near the platform between tracks 18 and 19 of the Long Island Rail Road, according to information on the Citizen app."
Jahmar Stewart, 32, whose last known address was the Salvation Army Men's Shelter at 681 Albany Ave. in Brooklyn, has been charged with assault and attempted robbery. Stewart was left crumpled and covered in blood at the bottom of an escalator on the Long Island Rail Road platform between tracks 18 and 19 at about 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 24 after he allegedly tried to rob two off-duty police officers who were heading home from the United Nations General Assembly. During a struggle, a female officer fired, striking Stewart in the arm and abdomen. Stewart was taken to Bellevue Hospital and remains hospitalized in stable condition. The incident occurred one day after another off-duty officer was assaulted on the L line; that assailant was homeless.
