New Yorkers don't typically associate Penn Station with holiday magic-more like sprinting for the right train track with a coffee in one hand. But, this December, the city's busiest transit hub is getting a surprisingly cozy glow-up with its first-ever Penn Station Holiday Market, turning the main Amtrak concourse into a four-day shopping detour you may actually want to get there early for.

NEW YORK -- Police released a photo and video of the woman last seen with an abandoned newborn baby girl at New York City's Penn Station. An anonymous tip led police to the child at the station on W. 34th Street and 7th Avenue just before 9:30 a.m. on Monday. The baby girl, described as a newborn, was found wrapped in a blanket at the bottom of a staircase leading to the 1/2/3 train platform.

"According to the reporting, Amtrak Police made 23 arrests for 'public lewdness' at Penn Station in June 2025 and is now making up to 20 such arrests per day,"

‘This issue is of critical importance to not only Long Island Rail Road riders, but all users of Penn Station as well,’ said LIRR President Rob Free.

Governor Kathy Hochul's announcement frees up $800 million initially set aside for the redesign of Penn Station, which will now potentially fund housing and green space initiatives.

When the Trump administration declared it would take over one of the state's largest and most complicated infrastructure projects, Penn Station, some were surprised that Ms. Hochul... appeared to respond not with defiance but with a kind of artful gratitude.
