Marc Maron has announced that his popular podcast WTF, which he started in 2009, will conclude later this fall after nearly 2,000 episodes. Maron expressed that the decision to end the show was mutual and comes after a long tenure of twice-weekly episodes, citing burnout and satisfaction with their work. He emphasized that this does not necessarily mean he will stop podcasting entirely, hinting at possible future interviews or projects. Maron continues to stay active with other entertainment endeavors, including an HBO comedy special and a role in an upcoming golf comedy.
Sixteen years we've been doing this, and we've decided that we had a great run. Now, basically, it's time, folks. It's time. WTF is coming to an end.
We're burnt out. And we are utterly satisfied with the work we've done.
Doesn't mean I'll never have talks like I do here, or some kind of podcast at some point in time. But for now, we're just wrapping things up.
It's okay to end things. It's okay to try to start some other chapter in your life.
