Planned Parenthood Mar Monte permanently closed five health centers in Northern California, citing funding restrictions imposed by legislation from the Trump administration. The closures impact over 22,000 patients primarily from low-income backgrounds and entail the discontinuation of essential services, including family medicine and prenatal care. The organization also laid off over 60 staff members to sustain its operations amidst financial and legislative pressures. CEO Stacy Cross expressed the organization's struggle and emphasized the need for financial sustainability to maintain abortion access in the future.
