At TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Artistic Director Giovanna Sardelli is preparing for a world premiere musical while addressing a recent $10,000 funding cut from the National Endowment for the Arts. Designed to workshop new plays, the grant’s loss comes at a challenging time for the company. Sardelli, who once worked in Las Vegas as a magician’s assistant, found her passion in directing. The upcoming show, inspired by Ed Grazcyk's play, explores themes of reconnection and growth through a group of friends who reunite years later in their hometown.
In this tiny town, nothing much happens, yet the story tells of bravery in facing one's past and the transformative power of truth and love.
