Rishi's, a restaurant opened in November 2023 within Brio Button House in Hackbridge, specializes in authentic coastal Indian cuisine, particularly from the Chettinad region. Despite winning awards, including the National Curry Chef of the Year at the UK Curry Championships, it struggles due to its hidden location. Owner Harish Suresh noted that while they serve many residents, visibility remains a challenge. Rishi's unique dishes, such as Calicut Meen Kuzhambu and Chettinad lamb chops, reflect the rich flavors of southern Indian coastal cooking, showcasing his culinary expertise and commitment to authenticity.
Owner and Executive Head Chef Harish Suresh shared, "We face a struggle on an everyday basis because we are totally hidden inside Button House. Our restaurant isn't even visible."
Rishi's owner emphasized the quality of their offerings by stating, "If we were on the High Street, I would say my business would be top-end, because there's a big difference to my restaurant compared to others."
