"'He's settled in well, but everyone forgets that he arrived here directly after his serious ankle injury,' said Bosz (as captured by Sport Bild). 'He hadn't trained at Bayern for three weeks. That takes time, just as he needs to get to know his teammates.' Bosz also went on to note that Wanner arrive in the Netherlands behind the eight-ball. 'He basically had to start over with us."
"'He basically had to start over with us. After the European Championship, he had three weeks of vacation. Then he injured himself in training with Bayern Munich during the first two weeks. He couldn't train for three weeks and then moved to Eindhoven. And the injury is still there. He's behind in training, but his foot was still causing problems,' said Bosz."
Paul Wanner joined PSV Eindhoven directly after sustaining a serious ankle injury and had not trained for three weeks at Bayern Munich. He took vacation after the European Championship, injured himself in training during the initial weeks, and could not train for three weeks before moving to Eindhoven while still carrying the injury. Wanner has been behind in training and has experienced continued foot problems. Since joining PSV he has appeared in three of five matches where he dressed, accumulating only 27 minutes and recording no goals or assists. Interest from Germany and Austria has cooled.
