Fiber shows record growth: FBA Survey
"Fiber broadband grew at a record pace in 2025, according to the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) annual Fiber Deployment Survey, conducted by RVA LLC Market Research & Consulting (RVA). The survey found that, in 2025, fiber broadband deployments reached 11.8 million homes in the United States - 98.3 million when homes with more than one passing are included. Canada had total of 14.5 million fiber passings, nearly three quarters of the country's market."
"In the U.S., fiber broadband has now passed more than six in ten households, the survey found, and is on pace to overtake cable and all other technologies as the dominant U.S. delivery platform as early as 2028. Even so, 60 million potential first-time fiber passings remain, while 84% of potential second and third passings remain untapped. The research also showed that the average take rates rose to 46.5% for primary passings. Take rates rose to 61% when a secondary provider enters a market."
