Husband of murdered woman arrested in Newcastle, Ont., Durham police say | CBC News
"A Newcastle man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife who died earlier this month after being found with serious injuries, Durham police say."
"Around 9:10 a.m. on Sept. 16, officers responded to a call of "unknown trouble" in the area of Farrow Avenue and Highway 2. Officers found a 62-year-old woman "with obvious signs of trauma," police said in the release. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene."
"The victim's husband, 64, was arrested without incident on Friday, police said. The accused is being held for a bail hearing, police said. Newcastle is located about 28 kilometres east of Oshawa. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers."
