"A 31-year-old parent is facing two charges after allegedly driving dangerously through the property of their child's school in Oshawa Friday, Durham police say. At 3:40 p.m. Friday, officers responded to reports of a vehicle driving dangerously through the parking lot and sports field at G.L. Roberts Collegiate Vocational Institute, Durham police said in a news release Tuesday. The vehicle was also seen driving dangerously toward students in the area, before the driver fled along a nearby waterfront trail, police said."
"The man, 31, allegedly drove through the school property after learning their child had been involved in an altercation with other students. The man was found at his residence, where he was taken into custody without incident, police said. He was later released on an undertaking. Police did not release the identity of the accused to protect his child's identity."
"He has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance and assault with a weapon. Police did not provide more details on the incident, or the reason behind the assault charge, in the release. No one was injured during the incident, police said. Anyone with more information is asked to come forward to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers. Police said tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward."
