Rob Font May Have Jinxed His Fight Against Dominick Cruz
Briefly

Rob Font was initially scheduled to face UFC legend Dominick Cruz at UFC Seattle, but Cruz’s unexpected shoulder injury forced him into retirement just weeks before their bout. After expressing disappointment over the loss of the match against a fighter he admired, Font quickly adapted by accepting a fight against newcomer Jean Matsumoto. Font acknowledged the different fighting styles of Cruz and Matsumoto, viewing the new matchup positively while emphasizing the inherent challenges in UFC competitions.
I hope I didn't jinx myself. I knew about it, we had an idea that we were going to get offered Cruz, and then the moment I got the contract I was like, 'alright I just hope he doesn't get injured. I hope he makes it through a camp'," Font told reporters.
This is a dangerous guy, but it's a good matchup. If you look at his style, it's completely different from Cruz, but it's going to be a fun fight... I like the matchup.
