On 28 November 2023, a businessman was subjected to a violent robbery outside his home in Scunthorpe, where he faced a replica gun and was injured. Four men, Vincent Bennett, Sukhvinder Singh-Degwa, Mark Baguena, and Safin Mohammed, were found guilty after a 22-day trial. They had traveled from London to carry out the attack, during which the victim was assaulted and robbed. Bennett and Singh-Degwa received nine-year sentences for their roles, while Baguena and Mohammed received seven years. Police emphasized the premeditated nature of the crime and the terror it caused the victim.
