Following a shocking shooting incident at Fairgreen Shopping Centre in Carlow Town, where gunman Evan Fitzgerald opened fire, the shopping center will reopen on Wednesday. Fitzgerald, who was on bail for firearms charges, died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot. Carlow Garda Superintendent Anthony Farrell is urging witnesses of the shooting to come forward to Gardaí immediately. 'As part of the investigation process, Carlow Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who was in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre or the vicinity of its carpark... in connection with the serious shooting incident,' said Supt Farrell.
'Fairgreen Shopping Centre would like to thank everybody for their understanding and patience... We fully expect to open tomorrow Wednesday, with the exception of Tesco,' said John Brophy.
