Teenager dies in single vehicle crash in Kildare

A tragic accident occurred on June 5 in Newbridge, Co Kildare, where a teenage male passenger died following a collision involving a pick-up truck. Emergency services arrived shortly after the incident, and while the driver, also a teen, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the passenger was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. Gardaí are now investigating and have closed the road for forensic examination, appealing for any witnesses or camera footage from the area. Additionally, a separate crash in Athy resulted in serious injuries to another man, prompting further investigations.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to both crashes, particularly any road users with dash-cam footage between 7.45pm and 8.15pm to assist in the investigation.
