Accused Southport Shooter Was Kellie Pickler's Former Date to CMT Music Awards
"I am ecstatic about being here at the CMT Music Awards with Kellie, even more to consider her a friend."
"She is the most sincere person I know. She is an angel."
Former Marine Nigel Edge, who changed his name from Sean DeBevoise in 2023, allegedly opened fire at the American Fish Company restaurant in Southport Yacht Basin, killing three people and injuring five. Edge previously attended the 2012 CMT Music Awards as a date to country singer Kelly Pickler, appearing in his Marine uniform with his service dog Rusty and praising Pickler as an “angel.” Earlier this year Edge sued Pickler, alleging she tried to poison him. Edge reportedly suffers severe PTSD from injuries sustained in Iraq and faces multiple murder and assault charges.
