At approximately 8:15 a.m., staff at Adams Middle School reported a student allegedly carrying a firearm concealed in a backpack. School staff contacted the Brentwood Police Department and a school resource officer responded to the campus. Police determined the firearm to be real and arrested the student, who was taken to juvenile hall. Law enforcement is coordinating with school officials, the Brentwood Union School District, and the student's parents to determine the circumstances. Authorities thanked students who reported the weapon and praised staff's swift response, characterized the incident as isolated, and asked anyone with information to call 925-809-7911.
