Trump falsely claims Harvard won't say who its international students are - Poynter
Briefly

President Trump claimed Harvard University is withholding the identities of its international students, leading the administration to revoke its federal certification for enrolling them. However, a federal judge has temporarily blocked this action. The Department of Homeland Security stated that Harvard failed to provide requested information about its international students, which Harvard disputes. Immigration law experts argue that the government has access to this information via the SEVP database, contrasting Trump's assertions about the lack of knowledge regarding these students' identities.
Part of the problem with Harvard is that there are about 31% of foreigners coming to Harvard ... but they refuse to tell us who the people are.
U.S. colleges and universities that enroll international students must be certified under the Department of Homeland Security's Student and Exchange Visitor Program, called SEVP.
DHS cited that as one reason for revoking Harvard's certification. But Harvard disputed that in its lawsuit against the Trump administration.
Courts have not yet ruled on whether Harvard complied with providing DHS with the additional information it requested.
