Woman sought in violent Oakland carjacking
"The violent carjacking happened about noon Oct. 1 in the 1100 block of Clay Street. Police said the rideshare driver, a Half Moon Bay resident, had just dropped off a passenger and was sitting in his parked Toyota Prius. A woman then walked up to the vehicle, opened the door and began struggling with the driver before dragging him outside, where she pummeled him repeatedly with her fists, police said."
"The stolen Toyota was recovered a short time later the same day in the area of Fifth and Henry streets in West Oakland. The suspect was last seen walking away from the vehicle. The suspect is described as Black, 20 to 30 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches with a thin build and black hair in a ponytail."
An unidentified woman is sought for a violent carjacking about noon Oct. 1 in the 1100 block of Clay Street, downtown Oakland. The 77-year-old rideshare driver from Half Moon Bay had just dropped off a passenger and was sitting in his parked Toyota Prius when a woman opened the door, struggled with him, dragged him outside and pummeled him repeatedly with her fists before driving away in the Toyota. The driver sustained severe facial injuries and was hospitalized for several days. The stolen Toyota was recovered later that day in West Oakland. The suspect is described as Black, 20–30 years old, 5'5"–5'7", thin, with black hair in a ponytail, wearing a green sweat suit. Police ask anyone with information to call 510-238-3326.
