About a dozen federal agents went to Don Lemon's Los Angeles hotel to arrest him overnight on 30 January. Lemon's attorney had told authorities he would turn himself in to face federal civil rights charges connected to coverage of an anti-immigration enforcement protest that disrupted a Minnesota church service. Lemon said agents jostled him, tried to handcuff him, and initially could not produce a warrant; an FBI agent later showed a warrant on a cellphone. A grand jury indicted Lemon, Georgia Fort and others on conspiracy and interference with worshippers' constitutional rights. Lemon plans to plead not guilty and says he had no affiliation with the protest group.
