Battlefield 6's Buggy Update Is Being Fixed, As New Patches Scheduled And Tournament Delayed
"The Winter Offensive update went live in Battlefield 6 on December 9, bringing new content and a limited-time event. Unfortunately, the update also added a host of issues that affected gameplay. The problems were so severe that the developer has now postponed Battlefield 6's $1 million tournament series for Redsec and outlined the fixes planned for future updates. The Winter Offensive update caused a wide variety of issues across all platforms, with bugs related to the Breakthrough and Portal modes, as well as performance issues with stuttering on PC."
"According to the post, several issues have already been addressed via hotfixes. This includes a fix for tier skips not working on the Winter Offensive event pass, corrected XP rewards for daily challenges, and previously incorrect ticket counts for Conquest mode. It also resolves an issue with player movement momentum and a bug that caused players to remain stuck in the air viewing their aircraft."
The Winter Offensive update went live in Battlefield 6 on December 9 with new content and a limited-time event. The update introduced widespread bugs across platforms, affecting Breakthrough and Portal modes, causing PC micro-stuttering and a main menu issue that prevented some players from selecting and playing game modes. A developer community update lists known problems and recent hotfixes that fixed tier skips on the event pass, corrected daily challenge XP, fixed Conquest ticket counts, resolved player movement momentum issues, and un-stuck players viewing aircraft. Remaining fixes will arrive on PC December 12 and consoles December 15. Technical problems led to postponement of the $1 million Battlefield Redsec Elite Series, and the developer apologized for the disruption.
