Blighted is expected to be released in 2026 for both PC and consoles, marking a significant evolution for the developer.
At Summer Game Fest, Drinkbox Studios revealed that it's making the leap to 3D with new co-op action game Blighted. The Toronto-based developer is known for its vibrant 2D games Guacamelee and Nobody Saves The World, although judging from this first look, it's not sacrificing its distinct aesthetic.
With an isometric perspective, it might look a bit like Hades that can be played solo or co-op. However, it's actually a 3D metroidvania action-RPG, and according to its Steam page, it's set in a 'psychedelic Western nightmare' where you harness the power of the Blight, which serves as the game's dynamic difficulty system, as well as unlocking new paths in the world.
