Hitman Co-Op Proves World Of Assassination Isn't Slowing Down Soon
Briefly

During the IO Interactive Showcase, significant focus was given to the new co-op mode for Hitman: World of Assassination, which promises to evolve player interaction in the game. Christian Elverdam, CCO of IO Interactive, emphasized the potential of cooperative gameplay, sharing that even early prototypes reveal a unique social experience. The development of co-op mode is part of a deeper journey of discovery, paralleling the previous success of the roguelite Freelancer mode. Elverdam highlighted the ongoing exploration of ideas and innovation within the game, indicating a commitment to enhancing player engagement.
"Even the early prototypes [of co-op mode] that we showed a little bit of [on stage], it's just a different experience to play with a friend in that world," Christian Elverdam, CCO of IO Interactive told me.
"We're not done figuring out what this thing is. Because [Freelancer was made by] a fairly small team that went like, 'We have this killer idea about what we could do with all of this body of work.'"
"Hitman co-op mode will change the way players interact with its intricate sandboxes, in some ways IO tells me it can't even foresee yet itself."
