Tomorrow's Battlefield 6 patch is the first step towards improving footstep audio, and it might actually fix the settings reset bug
"Thew new content takes the form of a limited-time version of the game's Empire State map, which covers it in snow and tweaks its layout slightly. To go along with that there are new limited-time modes for both multiplayer and Redsec 's Gauntlet. The event mode will be available in Conquest, and Domination. The Ice Climbing Axe is the only new weapon in this drop."
"Easily the most interesting change in this update is the range of improvements to audio across the board. First, footstep audio received a big pass that should make it easier to hear enemy footsteps, easier to locate them, and across different surfaces. Image credit: Battlefield Studios, EA. Some of the bugs that caused certain sounds to simply vanish have been fixed. This was especially prevalent in battle royale matches."
Version 1.1.3.0 arrives December 9 and begins the third and final phase of the first season, Winter Offensive. The update includes a limited-time snowy Empire State map with layout tweaks, new limited-time Conquest and Domination modes, and Redsec's Gauntlet variants. The Ice Climbing Axe is the sole new weapon, unlocked through a Winter Offensive bonus battle pass path. Audio receives a broad pass: footstep sounds are clearer and easier to locate across surfaces, several sound-vanishing bugs—especially in battle royale—are fixed, and memory priorities for in-game audio were adjusted. Battlefield Labs testing also contributed to hit-registration improvements.
