""Sometimes you come to the training camp and you feel a little sore in your knee or your wrist or something, so you have to do maybe injection, maybe take some pills to feel better. Alex Ovechkin resumed full-contact practice Monday as part of his recovery from a lower-body injury after leaving his first skate of training camp early. He rejoined teammates in a no-contact jersey on Saturday and took contact on Sunday during a session with Capitals skills coach Kenny McCudden. Ovechkin and the team elected to avoid medical interventions such as injections or pills, opting for rest, team workouts, and extra recovery instead. He acknowledged that missing the first half of camp has created a conditioning gap and that additional practice and ice time will be needed. Washington has three remaining preseason games before the regular season.
