The house, located near Bruges on historic land, is designed to harmonize with its rural environment. Emphasizing privacy and connection to nature, the architects repositioned the building to enhance garden areas while preserving existing trees. The design incorporates a subtle underground level that respects local building styles, using materials like limed bricks and tiled roofs. Its architecture features a blend of introverted lower spaces with a more open, welcoming upper level, achieving a balance between privacy and community engagement while maximizing natural light in all areas.

By including an underground level that is discreetly integrated, the architecture manages to respect the village's character while providing ample living space and natural light.
