The small refuge, measuring about 50 square meters, is situated near Valdivia, on the Pacific coast, amid the dense Valdivian rainforest. The design aimed to create a holiday cabin while addressing the challenge of reinterpreting traditional cabin concepts. Innovative materials and design techniques allowed the cabin to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, promoting a harmony between architecture and nature. This architecture fosters a comfortable environment while keeping a subtle presence within the lush forest, reflecting the client's desire for a serene retreat.
This small refuge of about 50 m is located near Valdivia, on the Pacific coast. It sits in the middle of the dense and humid Valdivian rainforest.
The client wanted a small cabin to spend holidays, and the main challenge was to reinterpret the deeply rooted concept of the traditional cabin.
The architectural design focuses on blending the cabin seamlessly within its lush surroundings, creating a harmonious relationship with nature.
Through innovative use of materials and design techniques, the cabin offers comfortable living space while maintaining a subtle presence in the forest.
