At a moment when independent cinemas across Europe are dimming their lights for good, Louis Denavaut breathes new life into the historic venue of the Elysées Lincoln cinema in Paris, France. The architect creates a sequence of atmospheres for this project, reflected in three distinct interior worlds that are clad in various materials and colors, from hushed velvet greens to saturated pinks and soft pastel tones.
This restructuring project makes it possible to intensify a strong architectural gesture - this briefly describes the basic idea of our Paris office for the renovation of the former, modernist Peugeot headquarters (architects Sainsaulieu) near the Arc de Triomphe. The project offers the central Parisian urban space an exciting 110-metre long facade. In this area, the existing concrete structure forms the backdrop for an innovative window system.
Brothers Andrew and Adam Mariani are fourth generation California farmers who, after spending time as vineyard hands in Europe, returned to their hometown and bought an old vineyard in the foothills of Sonoma, California, to start their own winery, Scribe. The early 1900s hacienda was in need of a complete overhaul (it had partially burned down in a fire), so working with architect David Darling of San Francisco firm Aidlin Darling, they restored the interiors without losing the essential character of the place.
