“One of my personal obsessions is trying to convince people to hang glass on the wall instead of in the window, so you can really experience the pure color and texture of the glass,” she tells Colossal.

Cher is an undeniable powerhouse with a record-breaking career spanning more than seven decades in entertainment. Personally I hate any lighting over a mirror; it's just not flattering! So I usually opt for sconces at face height instead in our designs. The wood has often warped from water damage, the caulking has gaps, and the polished brass hardware is chipped.

"I think craftsmanship is being more appreciated, almost like a lost art, in this growing technological climate," says designer Hollie Velten, owner of the design firm SPACES.

Deschanel's living room features a stunning green velvet couch, paired with classic art framed in antique gold and beautiful fresh orchids in a fluted glass planter, showcasing her eclectic yet chic style.

"This not only allows you to figure out what goes where, but how much spacing to allow between pieces. When arranging a gallery wall, you don't need to have the exact same spacing between each piece; some pieces need more breathing room than others."

Hendry and Cook wanted their home to be a rest from visually busy day jobs. 'I didn't want to look at our art or other art,' Hendry told Architectural Digest in 2023. 'We need a break from color.'

People think I am crazy for sleeping on a Japanese Tatami mat at night. Every comment I get is filled with people telling me to get a 'real American bed.' But I know myself. If there was a bed in my sight, I'd want to get in it! This helps the apartment function properly in the daytime.

"Light paint color is not going to fix your dark room. In fact, it's gonna make it worse. Less natural light means there is less reflection around the room. Light paint colors rely on that light to appear bright and airy. So, if there's not enough natural light, colors will look really dull and flat."
