A piece of decor that some might have once snubbed has come back in style, and that's the TV tray. First advertised in 1952, TV trays were typically sold in folding sets of four. Though it is tricky to track down exactly who invented the moveable object, the invention soon permeated all layers of society, even reaching the presidential household, before falling from grace.

The secret is in pleat tape, which Dalton threads through the back tabs to help give the top of the curtain more structure. Then, he makes even folds across the top edge of the curtain, adding a curtain clip to pinch each into place. The result: The curtain doesn't sag or droop between the clips, making it look a whole lot sleeker and way more expensive (even though the pleat tape only cost $15!).

I've been really loving a touch of green in our home lately. It's always been one of my favorite colors but I didn't use it as much in my past two homes.
