There's no doubt that the arrival of The Beatles Anthology in 1995 was a big deal. The TV series was broadcast at prime time on both sides of the Atlantic, and ABC in the US even changed its name to ABeatlesC in its honour. The three accompanying albums (the first time the Beatles had allowed outtakes from their recording sessions to be officially released) sold in their millions.

It was a chaotic scene at DC's Shoreham Hotel when the Beatles stayed there in February 1964. The band was in town for its first public American concert, and thousands of fans flocked to the hotel, clogging Calvert Street. The Beatles had rented an entire floor, with guards stationed at the stairwells to prevent anyone from sneaking in. They stayed in a presidential suite, as general manager Phil Hollywood later recalled in an interview with the Washington Post.

Over Thanksgiving, Disney+ will serve up a delicious treat for Beatles fans: a newly restored and remastered version of The Beatles Anthology documentary film will be released with the addition of a new ninth episode. Marking its streaming debut, the film will debut on Disney+ over three nights: episode 1-3 will launch on November 26th, followed by episodes 4-6 on the 27th, and episodes 7-9 on the 28th.
