Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that he intends to participate in talks in Berlin on ending the conflict in the country. However, it remained unclear whether he would arrive in Berlin on Sunday and meet the US special envoy, Steve Witkoff. "The most important are my meetings with representatives of [US] President [Donald] Trump, as well as meetings with our European partners and many leading politicians about the foundation of peace a political agreement to end the war,"

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) says it has agreed to a proposal by the United States for a ceasefire in Sudan after more than two years of fighting with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). The paramilitary group said in a statement on Thursday that it would accept a humanitarian ceasefire proposed by the US-led quad mediator group, which includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, to address the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of the war and to enhance the protection of civilians.

The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt will stay closed until further notice, Israel has said, after the Palestinian embassy in Cairo said the territory's sole gateway to the outside world would reopen on Monday. The statement by Benjamin Netanyahu's office said reopening Rafah would depend on how Hamas fulfils its ceasefire role of returning the remains of all 28 dead hostages.

Israeli officials are in Cairo negotiating a ceasefire agreement with Hamas based on a 20-point plan presented by US President Donald Trump. The agreement would see the remaining 47 Israeli hostages returned (25 of whom are presumed dead), a cessation of Israel's bombing campaign and the creation of an interim government for Gaza led by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

An Israeli attack in Qatar's capital, Doha, targeting Hamas officials has drawn swift condemnation from across the region and beyond with the UN chief calling the air strikes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed that the Israeli military carried out the attack in Doha on Tuesday against Hamas leaders.

"I renew my heartfelt appeal to allow access for decent humanitarian aid and to end the hostilities, whose heartbreaking price is paid by children, the elderly and the sick."

Moscow squanders another opportunity to put an end to the killings. This once again demonstrates that Russia's only goal is to prolong the war.
