Manchester United are on the brink of confirming a familiar face as their next caretaker manager, with club legend Michael Carrick poised to return until the end of the season. Following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim and an unsuccessful interim spell under Darren Fletcher, the 44-year-old has reached a verbal agreement to steady a campaign that is rapidly slipping off course.

Red Bull New York completed the signing of German center-back Robert Voloder on Monday to a three-year contract that will run through December of 2028 with an option to complete the 2028-29 season. Since he already has his green card, he does not occupy an international roster spot. The 24-year-old spent the last four seasons with Sporting Kansas City, where he made 78 career appearances.

Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has reportedly asked Hansi Flick if he can play at center-back after seeing Ronald Araujo ruled out for the time being. Araujo has been granted a temporary leave of absence in the wake of his red card against Chelsea, and it's not clear yet when he will return to action. According to Cope's Helena Condis, the situation has seen Kounde ask about the possibility of him switching from right back to a central role.
