In the northern town of Windsor is the most famous: Russian River Brewing. It's been voted one of the top breweries in the country and is best known for its Pliny the Elder. But there's also the Belgian-influenced Cuver Brewing and Barrel Brothers. Santa Rosa, meanwhile, has the most breweries, including Cooperage and its new downtown location, plus Fogbelt, HenHouse, Iron Ox, Moonlight, Old Possum, Russian River's original brewpub and Shady Oak Barrel House.

Months of hot weather have produced a record-breaking year for apples in the UK, with the harvest coming in bigger and earlier than ever. That means it's also going to be a record-breaking year for cider. According to the National Association of Cider Makers, the warm summer has also delivered apples full of rich flavours and natural sweetness, perfect for cider making. In orchards across the UK, boughs are breaking under the weight of the ripening fruit.

There's a new player in the local cider scene. Alchemy Cider has opened in the Buckman neighborhood, bringing a dark magic, metal-inspired aesthetic to the former Brewery 26 space. The taproom, which seats up to 50, is dark and moody, decorated with pointed arches, vintage church pews, sconces, and hooded figures-though for sunny days, there's also a patio.

"This rose redefines what a cannabis beverage can be, it's a modern alternative crafted for today's consumer, without compromising on taste, quality, or experience," said Mack Hueber.
