Contra Costa County supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to provide millions of dollars in direct funding to more than 65,000 households that rely on federal food assistance, joining similar efforts across the Bay Area as benefits remain in limbo. A man was fatally stabbed late Thursday morning at a home in Bay Point, authorities said, and a woman was being held in the killing. According to a news release from the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 11:26 a.m. to a medical-police call at a residence on Solano Ct. in Bay Point. At the home, they found a man bleeding from stab wounds and provided first aid until an ambulance arrived.
