Francisco Javier Ravelo, 36, a former contractor for the U.S. Air Force in Florida, admitted in Miami federal court that he distributed videos over the internet that showed someone mutilating the private parts of primates for sexual gratification on at least 42 occasions between September 2024 and February 2025.

Sonoma County prosecutors on Thursday highlighted animal activist Zoe Rosenberg 's history of protests and controversial tactics to counter her assertion that she played only a minor role in a series of Petaluma Poultry incursions that ended with her taking four chickens June 13, 2023. Prosecutors began questioning her Friday and continued into Monday before proceedings ended early Tuesday when Rosenberg became ill.
Garda Damien Prendergast, from Dunlavin Garda Station, told the court that in March 2023, while driving through Dunlavin, he saw several sheep wandering on the road. He returned the animals to Mr Mooney's land, where he observed dead livestock, animal carcasses and a strong smell of decay. He said he returned later the same day with other gardaí to inspect the scene. On their return, they took photographs which were shown in court. These depicted several dead and decomposing cows, lambs and sheep.
