The first two seasons of Daredevil: Born Again depict the ascension of career criminal Wilson Fisk to the realm of politics, winning the seat of mayor, much to the chagrin of his longtime vigilante nemesis Daredevil. Such a radical shift of the status quo would surely have rippled out beyond Hell's Kitchen into the wider universe (and in the source material, it very much does), but as shown by the teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Kingpin's newfound office and the anti-vigilante legislation he championed don't seem like it'll have many repercussions outside of Born Again.
The issue comes about 35 seconds in. Peter is explaining his memory-erasing spell from No Way Home while we see MJ and Ned watching TV, with no memory that their old friend is Spider-Man. On TV, we see Spider-Man receive the key to the city, presumably from the mayor. But we know exactly who the mayor of New York City is supposed to be right now: Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, the villain of Daredevil: Born Again.
Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones are back! Marvel Television's "Daredevil: Born Again" Season 2 trailer offers a sneak peek at their reunion to take down Kingpin. In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) is on a mission to destroy New York City as he hunts down vigilante Daredevil (Charlie Cox). In the trailer, fan-favorite Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) tells a disheveled Matt Murdock, "I hope you can walk, because I'm not carrying you."
As of now, all we know for sure is that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is officially happening, and that production will begin next year. Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, confirmed this to on September 18. While the statement is broad, we can speculate based on the production of previous seasons. Born Again Season 1 underwent extensive retooling, but we can look to Season 2 for guidance.
