The three-year deal includes more than 200 characters from across Walt Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars; Mufasa to the Mandalorian, Buzz Lightyear to Black Panther. According to a statement announcing the deal, "The agreement does not include any talent likenesses or voices." This means that while you might see Elsa building an icy Death Star, you definitely won't hear voice actor Idina Menzel singing about how Princess Leia needs to let it go.

Driving the news: Walmart said Friday that McMillon, CEO since 2014, would step aside early next year in favor of long-time lieutenant John Furner. The Financial Times reported late Friday night that Apple's board is accelerating plans to replace Cook, CEO since 2011, as early as next year. Disney is working toward replacing Iger as CEO (again) early next year, and he's been more vocal about the coming change in recent days, discussing his impending exit on a British podcast.
Iger is famous for building Disney through a series of mergers and acquisitions. These included ABC Television, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox. The deals looked good at the time, but all Iger was doing was creating a legacy media giant, mostly of TV and studios. New and huge streaming services, including Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, flanked Disney's old-world assets.
Jimmy Kimmel lives on. Now Disney has a new headache: the YouTube TV blackout. But Disney CEO Bob Iger told investors during the company's most recent earnings call on Thursday morning that Disney is "working tirelessly" to strike a deal that will end the ongoing carriage dispute that's led to more 20 of its channels going dark on YouTube TV. Disney's CFO, Hugh Johnston, however, was a bit less optimistic: "These discussions could go for a little while," he said.
According to The Hollywood Reporter , Disney CEO Bob Iger said in the company's latest earnings call that it is "in the midst of rolling out the biggest and the most significant changes - from a product perspective, from a technology perspective - since [Disney+] launched." Part of this is a licensing agreement with developer Epic Games to add "a number of game-like features" to the streaming service, and the other is working with unnamed AI companies to allow subscribers to create short-form video content based on Disney properties.

It's finally, officially, over. On Wednesday, Nov. 12, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to end the longest (43 days) U.S. government shutdown in history by a vote of 222-to-209, echoing the verdict of the U.S. Senate that voted 60-to-40 on Monday to do the same thing. When President Trump signed off on the law late Wednesday evening, the shutdown ended.
"The two of us are half-smart so I think the dynamic is we need two of us to just get to a baseline that most people have," Bush joked. "That's right," agreed Howard. "Left brain, right brain, yeah, it's a good point. In all honesty, we are a really good partnership because we trust each other and we share our sense of humor, our sense of storytelling."
