Carquinez Strait and Delta, Northern Sacramento Valley, Central Sacramento Valley, Southern Sacramento Valley and Northern San Joaquin Valley are the focus of a dense fog advisory released at 10:12 p.m. on Thursday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is in effect until Friday Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. The NWS Sacramento CA states to be ready for, Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous, the NWS said.
After recent rains drenched the Central Valley, dense fog is now rolling in through the holiday weekend. Murky conditions blanketed the region Friday morning, earning a dense-fog advisory through 10 a.m. due to visibility of less than a quarter of a mile. The most affected areas included Bakersfield, Delano and the southern portion of Interstate 5, Stephen McCoy, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, told SFGATE.
