For many, the first sign of fall is the leaves changing. But for me, a shopping-loving travel writer, it's when Uggs go on sale. Right now, Ugg boots, slippers, and more popular styles from the brand are marked down at the boutique retailer Gilt, perfectly coinciding with when you'll want to stock up on seasonal essentials to pack for your travel plans throughout the coming months.

If you watch one second of Thursday Night Football (available exclusively on Amazon Prime) you will be made aware about this October Prime Day-style sale. It's annoying, but the deals are actually good. And they're already here, even though the official kickoff isn't until October 7. Of course, we've been on top of it. We've already rounded up the best early October Prime Day deals on Apple products, sneakers, colognes, end-of-summer steals, swiss army knives, Legos and Oura rings.

Prong one: new items. Target is debuting more than 20,000 new items for holiday shoppers, many priced at $5 and most priced under $20. In a news release, the chain announced that is selling twice as many holiday items as last year, and more than half of those are Target exclusives. Our reviewer Brenda Stolyar had no complaints about the performance, noting that it handled multiple browser tabs, chat programs, and other apps without lagging or slowing down. Thursday, Sept. 18 is National Cheeseburger Day, giving restaurant chains the opportunity to ask, "Do you want BOGOs with that?" This means you can secure first-class pieces starting at $13, but not for much longer. The retailer is offering up to 78 percent off select travel bags, but only through the weekend.

Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, and while the prospect of cooler weather and shorter days can be a tough adjustment, at least there is always a great selection of deals to combat the post-summer blues.
