The sudden deaths Sunday of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, reverberated through Hollywood. Now, the arrest of Reiner's son Nick on Monday on a murder charge in connection with his parents' deaths is shedding new light on the internal struggles of the famous family. Business Insider spoke with Nick Reiner and Rob Reiner in 2016 while attending the Toronto International Film Festival, where the pair were premiering their movie "Being Charlie," which is based on Nick's experiences with drug abuse.

One in four people in the UK fear that a partner, relative or friend drinks too much, while one in six worry that a loved one is taking too many drugs. The findings, from a representative survey of 2,000 adults, appear to underline what some experts say is a growing epidemic of addiction to alcohol or drugs such as cocaine and cannabis.

There is a dangerous myth that drug addiction only has a single victim - the drug addict. Sadly, today's new case and new charges demonstrate there are many victims, including those who never intentionally ingest an opioid.
