As announced during the Xbox Developer Direct event in January this year, Forza Horizon 6 is coming to PlayStation 5 "later in 2026." That doesn't tell us much, but it is at least confirmation that the racing game will head to Sony's console this year.
The set includes the Series X with a 1TB SSD, Forza Horizon 6 on disc, and the wild limited edition wireless controller inspired by the game - a $180 value. Sure, you could just get a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to play Horizon 6 on its May 19th launch day, but then you'd miss out on the free controller.

Xbox released a lot of big games in 2025. It was one of the only good bits of Xbox-related news from last year. And in 2026, it will release new entries in four of its oldest franchises: Forza, Gears, Halo, and Fable. But new reporting indicates that while these projects, and others including a Fallout 3 remaster, are on track, Xbox is trying to avoid Grand Theft Auto 6 's big launch in November.
X user Xbox Infinite posted a screenshot of an in-game pop-up that appears to have been mistakenly triggered within Forza Horizon 5. If the pop-up is real and not a fake image, then it reveals that the game will launch on May 19, with early access starting on May 14 for anyone who purchases the Premium Edition. VGC says that "Sources have told VGC this is the correct release window" in their article on the subject.
Playground Games is working on two new games, including Forza Horizon 6 and a new Fable title, and both are expected to release on PS5--but only one may come to Sony's console day and date with the Xbox and PC versions. VGC's Andy Robinson said he expects Playground's new Fable game to be released day-and-date on PS5 because the team has been "targeting PS5 for a while."
The next Xbox Developer Direct Showcase officially has a date. It will air later this month and feature two returning Xbox staples, Fable and Forza, as well as something very different: Pokémon studio Game Freak's post-apocalyptic action RPG Beast of Reincarnation. On Thursday, Xbox revealed its next big Dev Direct event will happen on January 22 at 1:00 pm EST / 6:00 pm UK.
"While we can't reveal any specific details quite yet, we will of course be following in the footsteps of Forza Horizon 5 in delivering a broad range of cars that players will know and love. Japan - of course - has a unique car culture all of its own, and we're excited to have the opportunity to explore that in this game,"
The next Forza Horizon game could be announced sooner rather than later. Days after a leak hinted at the setting of the next entry in Xbox's arcade racing franchise, a report claims Forza Horizon 6 could be announced next month. The game is reportedly planned to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show in September. The last entry in the series, Forza Horizon 5, was first released on PC and Xbox consoles in 2021, with a PS5 version launching in April this year.
