If Mason Lohrei's days as a Bruin are numbered, he's making them count. Lohrei has been the subject of rampant speculation the last couple of days as part of a possible package for Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson. If it was bothering him, he didn't show it. The defenseman scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season in the Bruins' 5-2 victory over the Blackhawks in Chicago on Saturday night.

Morrissey doubled the lead early in the second with a shot through traffic, and Toews made it 3-0 just 42 seconds later on a power play, sliding home a rebound from Gabe Vilardi's attempt.
There was no sugarcoating how disappointed Brentwood players and coaches felt last week in suffering a 16-point drubbing by Crossroads in their Gold Coast League opener. Adding to that, the player inflicting the most damage was former Brentwood standout Shalen Sheppard. "I was mad," Brentwood center Ethan Hill said. So Tuesday's road game at Windward would reveal if the Eagles had learned some lessons. And they did, getting a bounce back 68-60 win.
Jack Eichel and Tomas Hertl led the charge for the Knights, scoring first and not looking back. The first period saw the Sharks go down 2-1 after a goal from Collin Graf was quickly countered by the Knights Pavel Dorofeyev. Shots were 13-7 for the Knights after 1, and it didn't get much better from there. The second period is where the Knights did most of their damage, scoring 3 goals to go up 5-2.
The Patriots turned in a clean, turnover-free performance in their regular-season finale. They overcame a sluggish first half and eventually dominated the Dolphins during the latter half of the game, snagging a 38-10 home victory at Gillette Stadium and securing the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Miami mustered one early touchdown drive with rookie Quinn Ewers at the helm starting in place of Tua Tagovailoa. The Patriots shut down Miami's run game and enjoyed a strong performance of their own on the ground.
Grant had 18 points and 12 rebounds to go with three steals for the Scarlet Knights (7-6). He was 5 of 12 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. Francis, who was coming off a career-high 34 points and a game-winner against Pennsylvania on December 20, was 7 of 7 at the foul line with three steals. Emmanuel Ogbole had 12 rebounds.
The losing streak is over! Maybe that doesn't make you feel all that jolly, as it doesn't aid their chances to make the postseason and hurts their draft stock, but watching the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders 30-23 will always bring fans plenty of joy. The Cowboys have some extra rest before wrapping up the 2025 season against the New York Giants, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer is hoping to end the year on a positive note.
Stanford forward Courtney Ogden had another breakout game after a stellar performance against Cal last week. The junior finished with 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting to go along with four rebounds. Lara Somfai had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Stanford. Oregon has a balanced scoring attack with Mia Jacobs (11 points), Katie Fiso (14) and Ehis Etute (14) all scoring in double figures.
Kreider, the lifelong New York Ranger who played in parts of 13 seasons for the Blueshirts until the summer trade that sent him to the Anaheim Ducks, received a lengthy standing ovation from the Madison Square Garden faithful several in Kreider jerseys as he skated around, his hand on his chest. It's self-explanatory, Kreider said. It's hard to put into words what that experience was like I don't know, kind of leaves you speechless, I guess.
It was a struggle all the way, but USC men's basketball continued its hot start with a 68-61 nonconference victory over Washington State on Sunday at Galen Center. The Trojans (10-1) led by three with five minutes remaining, but outscored the visitors 13-9 down the stretch to notch their second straight win. Jacob Cofie led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Chad Baker-Mazara added 19 points, six rebounds and five assists.
