Grocery price inflation has been recorded at 6.3pc in the 12 weeks to the start of this month. This is up from 5.4pc in the previous 12-week period, according to retail industry consultants Worldpanel, which used to be called Kantar. Worldpanel said this figure is based on over 30,000 identical products compared year-on-year in the proportions purchased by Irish shoppers and therefore represents the most authoritative figure currently available.
