The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid gives the brand's smallest utility vehicle what it's long needed: better gas mileage. It's a compact all-wheel-drive crossover hatchback that incorporates all of Subaru's traditional off-road chops, with the added benefit of somewhat better fuel efficiency. It's rated at 36 mpg combined versus the 29 mpg EPA combined number for the conventional Crosstrek, with either 2.0- or 2.5-liter engine. (The butch Crosstrek Wilderness trim comes in at 27 mpg combined.)

The threat of tariffs is prompting a number of overseas automakers to tout the extent of their investment in the U.S., with Hyundai's big investment earlier in the year being a particularly high-profile example. (Albeit with some more recent complications.) But they aren't the only foreign marque with manufacturing operations in the U.S., and this month Volvo offered some hints as to what we can expect from their facility in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

The new DS N°4 is a stylish replacement for the DS4, showcasing bold design and a range of electrified powertrains to appeal to future buyers.

While the enviro-optimist in me knows that they are an unsustainable, potentially deadly addiction, the enthusiastic, outdoorsy side of me thinks they're the greatest consumer products ever invented.
