While the crooks reportedly did not steal any credit card information, leaked personal details include customers' addresses, names, phone numbers, partial email addresses, and other customer-related information used for sales activities. "At this time, there has been no confirmation that the leaked information has been used for secondary purposes," the car manufacturer said in a Japanese-language report translated via Google, adding that customers should be on high alert for suspicious calls or mail - all of these stolen details can be valuable to criminals in targeted phishing attacks or other financial fraud.
In a recent demonstration of the technology developed by British company Wayve, a Nissan Ariya sedan outfitted with 11 cameras, five radars and a next-generation sensor called LiDAR maneuvered its way through downtown Tokyo, braking for red lights as well as pedestrians and other cars at intersections. It's set to be available in 2027, although Nissan did not give the models or other details.
Nissan Motor has reduced its production plan for the new model of its Leaf electric vehicle by more than half for September-November owing to delays in battery procurement, the Nikkei business daily said on Tuesday. Lower than expected battery yields at a Nissan affiliate had caused the revision, the Nikkei said, adding that the Japanese automaker planned to release the new EV model by the end of the year.
