There are always rumours, I'm always linked [to clubs]. To Tottenham, just like at one time I was linked to Espanyol, or to other clubs. In the end, especially because of my past at those clubs, when things aren't going well, people tend to fall back on emotions and say, 'Well, with Mauricio we played good football,' or whatever it may be.
"Nothing's changed, to be honest," he said. "I'm fully aware of the role I'm doing here and the responsibility I've got. We want to be successful, and I want the club to be successful beyond the end of the season - if that's me, if that's somebody else. "At this stage, I can't control that and we'll see what happens, but it's certainly about trying to improve the team and making Manchester United stronger."

"We have been on the same page. Of course, we don't agree on everything - I think in your job you don't agree on everything," Silva said. "If you have been achieving great results all the seasons we have been here and sometimes overachieving as well, you cannot do it if you are not on the same page. Of course, at some moments not everything [is] perfect - not everything I'd like to see the club [do] to progress, and sometimes the fans want [that] as well. But that does not mean that we are not on the same page. It doesn't mean that we don't have a great relationship and an honest and respectful relationship with everybody at the top of the club."
