Suspected Oakland pimp sentenced to 9 years for shooting man, woman in open air prostitution market

It started as an argument between two women who threatened to get their pimps involved, and resulted in a man and woman being nonfatally shot. Now, the suspect has been sentenced to nine years in state prison through a plea deal, court records show. Theodis Evans, 48, pleaded no contest to two assault with a deadly weapon charges and was sentenced last month, court records show. For now he remains at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
