"After thoughtful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our SoHo store in late 2026," a REI spokesperson said in an official statement. "Since opening in 2011, this location has held a special place for us and we are grateful to our team, our members and customers, and the broader community for their support over the past 15 years." The 35,00-square-foot flagship-the company's only location across the five boroughs-first debuted inside the iconic Puck Building on Lafayette Street back in 2011 and New Yorkers immediately flooded the shop to stock up on their camping and ski gear.

REI's Memorial Day sale offers a variety of outdoor gear and apparel, making it an excellent opportunity for shoppers, regardless of their outdoor activity level.
